Shattered Glass is a movement dedicated to shattering glass ceilings in STEM fields and beyond.

The mission of Shattered Glass is to provide opportunities for girls to EXPLORE science, technology, engineering, and math fields in order to DEVELOP future generations of leaders and innovators while EMPOWERING them to grow into strong, passionate, courageous and brilliant women.

STEM Focused

All workshops, breakout sessions, and whole group activities are focused on STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math). Shattered Glass seeks to lay a foundation for a love of STEM fields at an early age.

Team Building

Whole group activities are designed to get students to work together as a team while troubleshooting problems, developing ideas and strategies and iterating innovations.

Reshma Saujani, founder and CEO of Girls Who Code says, “You cannot BE what you cannot SEE.” It is for this reason that all Shattered Glass events introduce attendees to STEM related SHEros.

The EXPLORE feature on the Shattered Glass online is a curation of some of the team’s favorite online resources that are dedicated to facilitating a love of STEM for learners of all ages!

The DEVELOP feature of Shattered Glass online is dedicated to providing high-quality lesson plans and units for K-5 teachers that are fully aligned to Common Core and NGSS and utilize the SAMR model for technology integration.  Check this section often for freebies just for teachers!

The EMPOWER feature of the Shattered Glass online celebrates local Glass Shatterers of the Month to recognize their achievements and successes. In this feature, the SG team will also share the SHEro of the Month from whom our community can learn and be inspired.

why hello, student interns.

Shattered Glass would not exist without the student interns. These incredible young women have been with Shattered Glass since the very beginning. They were involved in the planning, coordination, development, and leading of sessions at the flagship Shattered Glass Summit. They have also volunteered with Shattered Glass attendees and residents at local senior living centers during the global Hour of Code week and developed Shattered Glass: A Global Journey, a live event that reached over 10,000 students at the 2018 STLP event in Lexington, Kentucky. Their passion and dedication continue to inspire glass shatterers all over the world.
